Solar Moonshot Grant Recipient

Sisters of the Holy Spirit and Mary Immaculate

San Antonio, Texas
“Because of our deep concern for the global crisis our world is in, we have been talking about and trying to find ways to minimize our own adverse impact on Mother Earth. We decided one of the greater ways was to go solar, as much as possible. With the system we have installed, it is estimated that our carbon footprint will be reduced by nearly 8,900 metric tons of CO2 over 25 years. Of course, there is the financial benefit as well. It is estimated that we will be offsetting 69% of the kilowatt hours we use annually. That frees up some of our funds to do other works for people who have very pressing needs. We are most grateful for the blessings we have received through grants such as the Solar Moonshot Program.”
