Solar Moonshot Grant Recipient

Mama’s Kitchen

San Diego, California
“The Solar Moonshot Program will allow Mama’s Kitchen to realize a long-standing goal to contribute more to environmentally responsible solutions on a daily basis. We have attempted to build a solar project in the past, but the ROI was projected too far into the future for the organization to make the initial investment. This grant will eliminate that barrier. At Mama’s Kitchen, we provide medically tailored meals to San Diegans with critical illnesses and we operate “in the now” to address immediate needs. We also recognize that the climate crisis is also an immediate issue that needs to be addressed and to quote JFK and the Solar Moonshot website: “If not us, who? If not now, when?”
-Jenna Novotny, Director of Development, Mama’s Kitchen
